THE KRANE CONNECTION

  The Krane Connection
We at The Shoe Store have a strong connection to the arts. Right above our store, in our upstairs office, we house the studios of artist Vanessa Garcia. Also, we patronize/sponsor theatrical events produced by The Krane. To read more about The Krane and Vanessa Garcia read below or visit their website: www.thekrane.com

The Krane Mission Statement
Mixing beats with brushes and curtain calls, we are a company of singers, actors, dancers, painters, and photographers, ready to put on show for Miami. Art, Theatre, Events, Music -- The Krane is a visual and dramatic arts company that takes artists and audiences from the workshop to full-fledged production; from the canvas to the opening -- touching upon every step of the artistic process and fusing the arts with design; mixed-media with tradition. In a world as fast paced as ours, where ivory towers come tumbling down with the wrecking ball, it doesn't make sense to separate the arts and senses from each other.

Our name itself – The Krane -- draws together the construction cranes of a new urban center with ancient myths and legends of the crane bird. Legend has it that the Taoist sages were transported between heavenly worlds on the backs of Cranes. Think of us, as the cranes that take you through Miami -- crane city – and beyond. Towering above the high rises and building blocks of a metropolis under construction, we are the voice of a new generation, that sees the world with google eyes from a bird's eye view. Insiders and outsiders alike, we are native Miamians, we are citizens of the world, and we are here to set the stage for the next echelon of artistic heights.

Who we are: Many of us are Miami natives, who have traveled the world in life and study -- from New York City to Ghana; Japan to South America, we have degrees from Ivy Leagues, have lived through New York city during 9/11; New Orleans pre-Katrina; Europe, before and after the European Union. We are young, we have seen the world, and we are ready to bring it to Miami's stage -- a city whose rhythm has called us all back to her.

And remember, if you’re not in Miami and reading this and thinking: I wish The Krane were in my city – we travel and have traveled for work, if well-compensated.
